Dr. Aseneta joined the faculty of St. Vincent School of Theology in 2024, where he currently teaches Life and Biomedical Ethics. He also teaches at Ateneo de Manila University and Loyola School of Theology.
His academic vocation is marked by a consistent integration of intellectual rigor and pastoral sensitivity. Beyond his scholarly publications, he has devoted himself to the personal formation of seminarians from diverse backgrounds and to guiding religious groups through the Spiritual Exercises. This integration reflects his conviction that theological knowledge matures in dialogue with lived experience and compassionate engagement with others.
His distinctive contribution to SVST lies in the moral fluency he brings to theological education. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Theology, with a specialization in Moral Theology, from Loyola School of Theology. His dissertation, titled “Reframing Joseph Cardinal Bernardin’s Consistent Ethic of Life in the Light of the Crisis of Our Common Home and Pope Francis’ Integral Ecology,” engages pressing questions at the intersection of moral theology, ecology, and Catholic social thought.
He has been a member of Damdaming Katoliko sa Teolohiya (DaKaTeo) since 2022 and served on its Board of Trustees from 2022 to 2025. He is also a member of Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church (CTEWC). His publications include “Laudato Si’ on Non-Human Animals” in the Journal of Moral Theology (Maryland, 2017) and “Reframing Joseph Cardinal Bernardin’s Consistent Ethic of Life in the Light of the Crisis of Our Common Home and Pope Francis’ Integral Ecology” in Asian Horizons (India, 2020).
