PRAYER OF SOLIDARITY WITH MYANMAR
(This may be prayed by all after the post communion prayer)
God our loving Father, you guide all creation with fatherly care. We humbly pray for our brothers and sisters in Myanmar in these trying times brought about by the military junta and Covid-19. Many of them are suffering, hungry, sick, victims of violence, displaced from their homes and separated from families. Look upon them with mercy and protect them from all harm and unite them in justice and peace. We pray for all who stand for truth and justice, may your Holy Spirit strengthen them in the assurance that peacemakers are your children and that their sacrifice and labor will bear fruit with your grace. We pray for all those who cause these sufferings and violence, that you may touch their hearts and lead them to repentance and change of hearts. Bring all of us together peacefully into one family and keep us all united in brotherly love. We ask this, through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.

Experiencing Communion with God in the Time of CoVID: The Sacraments and their Challenges Today
Tandang Sora, Quezon City
1:30 PM
The 4th and last on the series of SVST Academic Forum for this school year was held live online last April 28, 2021. Entitled "Experiencing Communion with God in the Time of COVID: The Sacraments and their Challenges Today", this lecture was delivered by our very own rector and the De Paul House superior- Rev. Fr. Manuel F. Ginete, CM, PhD. The webcast of this forum hosted by Sr. Daryl Joy Almonia, DC started at 1:30 pm via Zoom and was also posted live in the Facebook account of SVST.
Abstract: COVID-19 has disrupted the usual flow of human existence. Particularly affected is the sacramental practice that characterized regular religious experience. Yet at the same time COVID provides us the precious opportunity to re-assess, re-calibrate, and re-think not only the practice but also the theology of sacraments in particular and religious experience in general. This webinar is an attempt to begin a conversation along this line.

Linking Our Childhood Trauma to Our Wellbeing During the Pandemic
Tandang Sora, Quuezon City
1:30 PM
The current COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the physical and mental health of many people in the world. Those incapacitated to cope with life stressors due to their traumatic past are the ones most likely affected. In this academic forum, I discuss (1) the link of childhood trauma to adult wellbeing whereby more exposures to trauma in younger years means more physical and mental health problems later in life and (2) several preventive and curative interventions to improve adult wellbeing.
RENEGOTIATING THE SACRED: Academic Conference 2021
1:30 PM
Ravaged by the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Filipinos turn to the Sacred for help. But what constitutes “banal” for them? This lecture examines the local religious inflections and articulations as these constantly spell a difference in the lives of millions. It will be shown how the discourse of “loob” remains an essential compass in navigating the intricacies of Filipino consciousness vis-à-vis the push and pull of and on the sacred. Fr. Kenneth Centeno, CM delivered this talk in an online symposium on February 2021. Fr. Centeno, a new member of the SVST Faculty, just graduated with the Doctor in Philosophy Summa cum Laude from RWTH –University of Aachen, Germany in 2020. Fr. Rolando Tuazon, CM moderated the conference; it was attended by around 80 persons in Zoom, and was broadcasted on FB Live Streaming. It can be accessed on this link:

Vincent helps started last January 2020 as the response of the Vincentian Family to the needs of the victims of with the eruption of Taal Volcano. Right after, it continued its services of food packs distribution during the Community Quarantine at the time of the pandemic. When typhoons Rolly and Ulysses came, Vincent Helps also responded to help those who are affected by them in Catanduanes and Cagayan. During the first months of the community quarantine, SVST became the repacking station of Vincent Helps. Seminarians, formators, professors, lay students and youth volunteers spent hours repacking and distributing goods and in cooking hot meals for street dwellers and stranded people. Vincent Helps launched programs such as Soup Kitchen, distribution of Hot Pandesal, Entengdahan, and relief operations for those who are hit by typhoons in the Philippines.
